From a small island workshop to homes across the world. In 1989, founders Janet and Ian Russell opened the doors of Arran Aromatics on the Isle of Arran, inspired by the wild landscapes and evocative scents that surrounded their island home. What began as a modest body and skincare range has grown into one of Scotland's most loved fragrance brands — and 37 years on, the island is still at the heart of everything we make. In 2016, Arran Aromatics became ARRAN Sense of Scotland — a new name with fresh energy, but the same enduring commitment to the place that started it all. Our fragrances were reborn with new names drawn from our favourite corners of the island: Lochranza, Machrie, Glen Rosa, Glenashdale. Different words, same soul. Every product we make is still crafted at our Home Farm factory on the Isle of Arran, using mineral-rich water drawn from the island itself. That has never changed, and it never will. Recent Highlights The past couple of years have brought some of our proudest moments yet. In early 2025, our ARRAN Naturals range earned recognition at the Veggie Awards — our Calm Natural Soap Bar taking Silver in the Everyday Essentials category, and our Awaken Mint & Eucalyptus Hair Conditioner receiving Silver in Vegan Haircare. A meaningful endorsement of our commitment to natural, thoughtful formulation. That spring also brought the launch of our Sannox Beard Oil — a natural extension of Scotland's first premium men's fragrance collection — celebrated with an intimate dinner at The Scott with some of Sannox's most loyal fans. August 2025 marked the arrival of Island Dusk, our most opulent fragrance to date. Inspired by the golden hour in the woodlands of Kilmory, this rich blend of saffron, jasmine, amber and Madagascan vanilla sold out within days of launching — a response that surpassed even our own expectations. September brought further recognition when ARRAN was selected as the official fragrance sponsor of the National Television Awards, gifting our men's collection to attendees. Our 2025 Perfume & Fragrance Advent Calendar sold out earlier than ever before, and our ARRAN Naturals Candle range launched to a beautiful pilates event at Space — Movement & Wellness. What's New in 2026 We continue to grow — carefully, and always with the island as our compass. Our new Women's Bath & Shower Gel Gift Set brings together two of our best-loved shower gels in one beautifully presented set. After the Rain — our signature scent and perennial bestseller — is paired with the newer but equally adored Island Dusk, an opulent blend of saffron, jasmine, amber and Madagascan vanilla that sold out within days of its launch. Together they offer two distinct moods: the fresh, floral familiarity of After the Rain alongside the richer, more intoxicating warmth of Island Dusk. It is a gift that feels both considered and complete, whether you are treating yourself or someone you love. For him, our new Men's Bath & Shower Gel Duo unites Sannox and Lochranza — two of the most characterful fragrances in our men's collection. Sannox, Scotland's first premium men's fragrance, brings leather, amber and oud in a scent that is deeply confident and grounding. Lochranza counters with the earthy complexity of patchouli, anise, cedar and vetiver — powerful, distinctive and entirely its own.
