Step One: Time for a Trim

To create a cleaner, brighter burn, ensure you trim the wick of your candle to 5mm and keep the pool of wax clear of any excess wick trimmings. This helps to prevent 'sooting' (blackening of the glass) as well as high flames.

Step two: Location, Location, Location

Light your candle in a well-ventilated room, away from drafts including open windows, fans and air conditioners, which can cause sooting (black marks on the glass jars) or uneven burning. 

Step three: Time to unwind 

Burn our large candles between two to four hours at a time to ensure an even burn and ensure the sides of the jar stays clean. Burning for less time can cause the candle to 'tunnel', which leaves a build-up of wax around the candle sides.

Now all that's left to do is relax, unwind and inhale deeply as our blend of soothing essential oils help to restore inner calm and evoke memories of time spent on our island home. 

Did you know?

'Pull away' is a term commonly used to describe the appearance of air bubbles or wet look on the inside of glass candle jars. As the hand-poured wax begins to cool inside the glass jar, it begins to shrink ever so slightly or 'pull away' from the sides of the jar. The glass then magnifies this gap which creates the appearance of air bubbles. Don't worry, there's no need to fret as the bubbles will start to disappear once your candle has been lit and begins to warm back up.
